Description
A gauge for checking pressure in an inflatable board.
Why a separate instrument when the pump has one: the built-in gauge reads pressure while you're pumping and is off by a few psi, whereas what you actually want to know is what's left in the board after an hour in the sun. Over-pressure in heat splits a seam; under-pressure means the board sags underfoot and loses speed.
Who it isn't for. Useless on a rigid board. And check the valve type — different systems need different fittings.
