Description
A centre deck pad extends grip forward along the deck, to where the front foot lives. The point is that wax holds while it's fresh, whereas a pad holds always. For anyone who moves their feet along the board it changes the ride more than a new tail pad would.
Paired with a tail pad it gives a continuous strip of traction across the whole working area.
Who it isn't for. If you surf in one stance and never move the front foot, it buys nothing. It adds weight and removes the option of tuning grip with wax to suit the day. And under a stretch cover a textured pad catches on the fabric.
