Description
Ryan Callinan's pro series — the Mayor of Merewether. His surfing is built on speed and airs, and the pad follows: 305 mm long, 300 mm wide, three pieces.
The material is lightweight, water-resistant, high-impact EVA. Water resistance isn't about comfort here: a pad that soaks up water gets heavier and eventually lifts at the edges.
Lite Trac compresses the material and moulds the tread into the mass rather than cutting it into the surface. The maker claims lighter and grippier than standard EVA. For an air-oriented surfer that matters — in the air the board hangs off your back foot, and grip is the whole story.
Who it isn't for. Too narrow at 300 mm for a wide fish tail. Anyone used to soft, plush EVA will find compressed material firm. And for cruising down the line, air-focused geometry is more pad than the surfing needs.
