A rack solves the mundane problem you only notice once: a board leaning on a wall falls over, scuffs on the skirting and dents its tail under its own weight. On a rack it rests on padded supports and never touches the floor.

An EVA mat goes in a boot, a van or on a garage floor: boards stack on it instead of on a hard surface. Sized for one to four boards.

Who it isn't for. It doesn't secure anything — under braking the boards still slide, so you need straps. And it won't protect against weight from above: it's a base layer, not armour.
