Nobile NHP Split Kiteboard

The NHP Split has been the brand's best-seller for nearly a decade for one reason: it solves a problem nobody else solved. The board splits in half and packs into a normal suitcase with the rest of your gear — no board bag, no oversize baggage fee.

The W-Connection is in its fourth generation, patent P403352. Splitting and reassembling takes seconds. The real question with any split board is whether the join ruins the feel. Here reinforced channels and precision locks carry the load across the connection, so stiffness, edge control and pop stay at full-board level.

The numbers. Four sizes: 133×40, 136×41, 139×42 and 142×43 cm, weighing 3.0 / 3.1 / 3.2 / 3.3 kg. Stance 61–66 cm across the range. Rider weight: 133 for 50–70 kg, 136 for 60–85, 139 from 75, 142 from 85. Folded: 74×40, 76×41, 77×42 and 79×43 cm — suitcase-sized.

G10 40 mm fins and a Splitcover NHP bag are included. For 2026 the paulownia core is lighter, stronger and stiffer, and the board carries BoomTAG — an NFC ID holding your contact details, so whoever finds a lost board can return it by tapping a phone.

What's inside. A wood core — the maker's position is that nothing beats it: wood is strong, springy, light and damps vibration at once. Over it, an ABS sandwich that transfers power straight to the edges and kills chatter. Fibres are laid triaxially, in three directions: power goes to the rails and the flex comes out even.

APS — added pre-stress. Initial tension is built into the structure during production. The board gets more torsion-resistant and stores energy it releases in a jump — that's the pop. Side benefit: the same strength in a thinner, lighter board.

3D Technology lets flex vary across different areas of the board. Softer landings, more impact resistance, shorter reaction time — while the ride stays forgiving.

Hydrodynamic rocker was drawn from analysis of water movement under the board: instead of a flat centre, a profile matched to the actual flow. Less drag, more speed and acceleration.

Double Trust channels. Deep rectangular channels hold grip in every direction and steady the board mid-manoeuvre. In practice that means shorter fins are enough — and only two on wave boards.

Symmetric contour. Matched edges lengthen the working rail line on toeside — better grip on take-off and landing.

Who it isn't for. Anyone who doesn't fly: you pay for the split, and if the board lives in your car boot that premium never pays back — take the solid NHP. It isn't a beginner's board either; the maker aims it at advanced and expert riders.
