Description
HIPE is GONG's inflatable board range for wing foiling and SUP foiling. An inflatable solves two problems a rigid board can't: it fits in airline luggage, and it shrugs off hitting a reef or a boat. The old price for that was flex — but Woven Dropstitch construction with a composite plate has closed most of that gap.
The HIPE Intruder is the downwind SUP foil board of the inflatable range, built around paddle speed. The long 9'3 outline exists to do one thing: accelerate hard enough to drop into long, fast-moving swell.
The consequence matters: it works with small foils, down to 700 cm², because takeoff speed comes from the hull rather than the wing area. A smaller foil means a higher speed ceiling and livelier handling.
Built on Woven Dropstitch with an ICS Full Composite Prepreg plate — rigidity being exactly what long inflatables usually lack.
