Description
The One has one strut, and everything else follows from that. Less frame means less weight: the canopy stays up in light wind where a three-strut kite has already dropped. The D2 cloth is chosen for the same reason.
The second consequence of low weight is relaunch. The kite comes off the water almost by itself, which is the main reason single-strut models end up in schools and on gusty spots: dropping it isn't a problem.
The maker puts it plainly: plug and play, a huge wind range, instant depower. For fast progression and for safe light-wind riding that's the right set of traits.
Who it isn't for. In strong wind and big air a single strut works against you — the canopy deforms under load. Competition freestyle is out too. And on a spot with steady strong wind the One's advantage never shows.
