SUP in Mui Ne: paddleboarding tours and rental in Vietnam

Stand-up paddleboarding is the discipline people book when the wind has not arrived yet, and end up enjoying more than they expected. It needs no wind, no waves and no prior skill — twenty minutes of instruction and most people are paddling comfortably.

Why Mui Ne works for SUP

Mornings are calm. The kite wind usually fills in late morning, which leaves the first hours of the day glassy. That is the SUP window, and it is also the most pleasant time to be on the water before the heat.

The coastline is worth paddling. Red dunes, fishing boats, the bay curving away towards the cape — from the water you see a version of Mui Ne that people who stay on the beach never do.

Warm water. Falling in is part of the first hour, and here it is simply pleasant.

What we run

A first lesson — balance, the paddle stroke, turning, getting back on the board from the water. About an hour, and it is genuinely all most people need.

Coastal tours — a guided paddle along the shoreline with stops. No experience required; the pace is set by the slowest person, and the guide carries water.

Sunset sessions — the same water, different light. The most photographed hour of the day here, and the calmest.

Rental — boards and paddles by the hour or the day if you already know what you are doing.

Who it suits

Almost everyone. SUP has the gentlest learning curve of any board sport: children, parents who do not want to kite, and riders taking a rest day all end up on the same tour. It is also the best balance training there is for kiting and surfing — you use exactly the muscles that matter and you use them slowly.

How it fits into a trip

Most of our guests come for kite or surf lessons and add SUP on the days when conditions do not cooperate. That is the sensible way to plan it: SUP is the thing that makes a windless morning into a good one rather than a wasted one.

Prices, tour routes and booking are on the SUP tours and rental page. If you are not sure whether your dates suit paddling, waves or wind, ask us — we watch this bay every day.
