The X-Race is VAYU's race line in its previous generation, before the V2. The brief is unchanged — velocity made good rather than versatility. ALUULA frame, double-surface canopy, X-Ply windows, carbon boom and leash in the bag: the package VAYU puts on every race wing it builds.
The reason to buy the earlier version is price. Race wings age more slowly than the marketing suggests: generation to generation the changes are fractions of a percent in drag and stiffness, and for a rider stepping onto a course for the first time the gap to the V2 is far smaller than the gap between a race wing and a freeride one.

Who it isn't for. Riders who want the current materials — that's the X-Race V2 on full ALUULA GOLD CG82. And freeriders: a race wing asks more of you in waves and in gusts than an AURA or an EOS does.
