The Touring board is built for distance — everything about it serves one job: going far and straight without spending energy on holding a line.
Against the Gen R race board it is one inch wider at the same 14-foot length. An inch sounds trivial; it is exactly what turns a nervous race board into one you can stand on for two hours while thinking about the view rather than your balance.
The touring bow gives more resistance in a turn than the Gen R — the price of stability and buoyancy.
