The Above Air is an inflatable foil board for getting started — more volume, more stability, fewer reasons to give up in the first days.
The hard part of early wingfoiling isn't flying, it is staying on the board before you fly, while there is no speed yet. Volume solves that: the board holds you up so you can work on the wing instead of on your balance.
The inflatable construction has a second advantage while learning: the board regularly takes hits from your own foil, and a hard hull pays a higher price for those.
