SIC Maui Tao Fit 10'0'' x 33.0'' SUP board

The Tao Fit series is built around three things: stability, durability and versatility. The hull is a hybrid that does two jobs at once.

The keeled nose cuts through chop and boat wake, softening the ride, while giving the board tracking — without it a board this wide would wander with every stroke.

Flat profile through the middle, flat deck. The keel fades toward the centre, leaving a level platform rail to rail. That's what people buy it for: yoga, fishing, carrying a cooler, a child or a dog — none of which sit steady on a domed deck.

This size: 10'0" × 33" × 195 L, 11.7 cm thick, 14.5 kg, max rider weight 100 kg. Single US box, supplied with an FCS II Connect Touring 9" fin and an Ergo-Grip handle.

Tough-Tec. A moulded, watertight EPS core provides stiffness, with a polyethylene skin thermoformed over it — the same plastic kayaks are made from. It shrugs off impacts, which is why these boards end up in rental fleets and schools. Inserts are moulded in and never penetrate the outer shell, so water can't get in even if the deck is damaged. On top, an embossed EVA pad.

Made in France: EPS cores produced on site, offcuts recycled, no polluting emissions, and the board is 100% recyclable.

Who it isn't for. Wrong board for waves or racing: a wide stable hull neither turns nor accelerates. And a thermoformed board is heavier than a composite of the same size — that's the price of being nearly ding-proof.
