Description
A rib-padded vest solves one specific pain: prone paddling puts your ribs on a hard deck for hours, and a long session leaves them bruised. It isn't an injury, but it stops you paddling the next day.
The second job is impact. A board coming at you rail-first hits exactly that area, and padding takes some of the energy out of it.
Who it isn't for. This is not an impact vest and not a flotation aid — it adds no buoyancy. It adds almost no warmth either. And for riding upright the padding does nothing: it earns its place only while paddling prone.
