Description
A leash is the only thing connecting you to your board after a wipeout. Its length is a safety question, not a comfort one: too short and the board snaps back at your head coming out of a wave; too long and it gets a run-up before it reaches you. The rule is simple — match the leash to your board length or go slightly longer.
The moulded build is the workhorse: same job, simpler execution. The sensible choice for rentals, a second board, or anyone who wants a leash that works rather than a leash that wins tests.
8 ft is sized for a large board. SUPs and longboards carry more mass and travel further; a short leash simply works toward its breaking load.
Who it isn't for. For flatwater paddling a coiled leash is better — a straight cord trails behind and snags. And this length is excessive on a shortboard.
