Ocean & Earth Toddlers Hooded Poncho Apparel

For a small child a poncho is the most practical thing on the beach. You wrap a wet toddler in it completely: they stop being cold immediately, and changing becomes one movement instead of a fight with a towel in the wind.

The hood matters more here than in the adult version: small children lose heat through the head faster and cool down noticeably quicker.

The loose, fastening-free cut is deliberate: nothing presses, nothing needs doing up with wet hands, and the child can move.

Who it isn't for. It isn't sun protection: it covers them, but no toddler wears a poncho all day — for sun you want a UPF rash vest. A poncho that's too long tangles underfoot, which with a small child is a hazard. And it isn't warm clothing for a cool day.
