Ocean & Earth Ezi-Rider 2.0 5'6" Surfboard

The Ezi-Rider 2.0 is a family soft board: the board you learn to stand on and then keep riding small waves on, without jumping straight to a hard board. In 5'6": 21" wide, 2 3/4" thick, 40 litres, 3.13 kg.

Volume, not length, is the number that matters. 40 litres float a rider properly — the board doesn't sink under weight on a slow wave and forgives the forward weight shift that pearls a hard board. The 3.13 kg weight matters for a different reason: you carry this through the shorebreak at arm's length, and an extra kilo tells on the tenth attempt.

The deck is soft but the core is rigid, so the board doesn't fold over a wave the way cheap foam rentals do. Fins are three 4.5" soft PU units on a Thruster Interchangeable Dual Tab system — removable rather than glued in, so you can fit stiffer fins as the surfing gets more demanding, or travel with none.

Who it isn't for. Powerful waves — a soft deck absorbs drive and the board stops accelerating. Experienced riders wanting a sharp turn will find volume and softness working against them. And size by weight: if you're between two, take the larger — too little volume holds back learning far more than too much.
