The Xtra Cado takes Machado's best-selling Machadocado into midlength territory.
Rob explains the appeal of the format more honestly than product copy usually does: a midlength isn't a longboard and isn't a shortboard, it's somewhere in between — for days when you don't feel like trying as hard, or when the waves don't give you the green light to rip. Sometimes all you want is to glide into a few waves and draw out a couple of longer turns. It simplifies the day.
Technically it's solved with volume and bottom shape: plenty of foam to get up and gliding, with a deep single concave for speed.
Who it isn't for. Sharp pocket work wants the Machadocado — a midlength won't keep up. In powerful hollow surf the length is a liability. And size the volume for yourself.
