Description
The maker's phrasing here is unusually precise: this template has more surface area than any twin fin and less than any keel. It is literally the midpoint between two classes.
What that gives you in the water: the trim and pull of a keel with the response of a twin. Tight radius turns in the trough and clean control across the face.
Thomson says the template came out of riding his own Revo Max — the avant garde Australian shaper built this hybrid by blending traditional keel templates with performance twins.
Single tab variants are compatible with the Futures fin system.
Who it isn't for. A classic retro feel wants a true keel; a maximally loose tail wants a plain twin. This template is deliberately in between.
