Description
The OS-1 is a down-the-line board. The high rocker lets you edge into the steepest part of a wave without pearling; the narrow nose and tail open up full turning and top-to-bottom riding.
What separates it from the Comp is the dual I-Beam composite stringers. An I-section stringer works as a beam: it puts longitudinal stiffness exactly where it's needed without adding weight across the whole board. In practice the board doesn't flex away under load through a turn.
Reflex Carbon construction: light and strong.
Who it isn't for. Light wind and small surf — the high rocker drags and the board won't accelerate. For a beginner the narrow tail releases sooner than they'd like. And strapless freestyle wants a flat rocker, which is the Cypher.
