The Freeride V2 is built around a monocoque: mast and fuselage are one part rather than bolted sections. The practical consequence is stiffness. A bolted foil flexes at the joints at speed, which feels like vagueness and delayed response; a monocoque doesn't do that.

The front wing is 825 cm² at intermediate aspect ratio. That's noticeably smaller than the 1325 cm² surf wing, and deliberately so: less area means less drag and a higher top end, but you have to be moving faster to get up. The manufacturer aims it at intermediate riders and above.

The wing profiles are redrawn for higher speed while keeping the ease of use an intermediate needs — an unusual combination, since speed is normally paid for in demandingness.

Who it isn't for. Beginners: 825 cm² won't lift at the slow speeds you learn at, and the first sessions become a tow. Waves want more area and a shorter mast. And a monocoque doesn't come apart — it travels whole, which counts against it on flights.
